4 more days. I can't believe how fast this is gone. We have a concert this Wednesday night so during both fingers and women's chorus we rehearsed for the concert. Dial 7 some new music that will be sent a graduation. Very difficult for them but once a student get its pretty easy to feel. I love a days where I get to work with two really good group. I have grown to love them a lot and will miss them. Musically things are working really well I feel like a lot of them in a lot of progress. I feel them took test last weekend part of the audition process I was pleasantly surprised by a few of the result and pretty sad with others that I thought were doing very well that either didn't appliance something very well or really don't know what they need to know. Feel like it's a little too late the help with some of the things but I will do my best 40. Everything is really great, I've loved.

The last few days have been really good but really busy. We had festival on Wednesday and the last two days have been auditions for next year's seniors. The festival is awesome I thought the students did an amazing job. Neither the women's group or consequence qualify for state Concert Choir barely missed it. I think they should have made it but maybe I'm just a little by. The women did really well there were a few missing which added to some balance issues. Overall I thought it was a great experience for the girls and myself. Doing I did since ive been kind of taxing but it's been interesting to listen to individual voices. I learned a lot about our singer. Graduation today and yesterday been really busy as well so I left just a few minutes early today so I could go to convocation commencement. I love doing this I can't believe I only have a week left.

22nd and 23rd of April 2013

Yesterday went pretty well for a Monday. During our music theory class we talked about chord progressions and where different chords lead. I drew a diagram on the whiteboard showing the tonic and where it could possibly go and from those cords where they continue to progression to finally and on the tonic chord at the end. Student had a lot of fun making up their own chord progressions and riding three-part chord progressions. I play them off for the class and they seemed to really enjoy doing that.

During concert choir we reviewed the music that we will be at the festival tomorrow. A few of them seemed a little clueless to the fact that we would be performing tomorrow at a festival. I don't understand how some of them are so clueless as to what's going on. When we make announcements for weeks and weeks and weeks and I still don't know what's going on it is very frustrating. They sound great they're working really well together I wish they were just a little more focused.

Mixed chorus we reviewed our festival literature for the concert I also worked on let everything that has breath which we were performing next Wednesday evening. I taught my first teacher work sample lesson on tuning this particular one we worked on descending intervals and tuning does. They did really well and with I was surprised with the outcome.

Today during singers we also reviewed our festival music that we performed several weeks ago because we will be performing them at the state chamber festival this Saturday. I absolutely love that group of kids. They have amazing voice is amazing talent and it's really fun personality. I think I'll miss them the most. I connect with him a lot of different levels and I love conducting them when they're very focused. We were able to listen to recordings from the last festival and make some decisions about what we can do to improve.

During women's chorus today we also prepared for the festival tomorrow. Debbie came in a company to end it was refreshing to have a real person playing piano and not recording. The girls are doing awesome it was really difficult for me today because I had to choose to soloists for when I seen. There were three or four girls at Absolute Leon voices and I just had to narrow it down to two. I came down to who can project the most sense I don't think we'll have Mikes on stage tomorrow. Overall I love that class I know I'm gonna miss them a lot there a few girls that really drives me nuts but for the most part they are awesome. Overall the last two days have been really good and look forward to the next week and a half before I finish up.

Most of the day was really great kama last. Kinda sucked. During Music Theory we got about halfway through class when the Ogden high school choir showed up to Springville. They are on there to her and stopped at Springville to have a class a concert choir. They got there much earlier than expected so they ended up performing for us during music theory. During concert choir we perform for one another and send a few songs together. It was really fun I thought it was good for the kids to interact with being with other students from a different school. During mixed choir we reviewed our concert repertoire and worked on hola Lucia and everything that has breath. Today I had to kick out gallon and canyon. They were both being really distracting to the point where I felt my temper being lost. Rather than losing in front of everyone I asked to leave in San Jose I can come talk to them in a minute. I really like doing that because I let me keep my cool and continue with the students who deserve my best. Overall it was a good day and I learned lessons about discipline can't believe I only have two weeks left.

Today was great. The morning started with a great music theory class. We talk about four chord progressions can I have the right to court progressions in two different keys. I was very surprised at how well all of them dead. They each brought to me there progressions and I play them on the piano for the class. There were only a few that had to make some minor adjustments. During concert choir we think you are festival material even though we had about a third of the class there. They got home late from to her last night and most of them stay home from school today. I don't really blame them. During mixed choir I was able to do my pre assessment for my TWS. The students did very well and I was surprised without time. Now I need to plan my lessons based on those outcomes. All in all today was great!

Today was pretty good. During first. We didn't have very many people, there were only four people total because the rest are still on to her. Thank you I use on b*** didn't get should much as we wanted to because of the numbers. We learned some nights and hola Lucia and they sound really good on the phone. We finish the class in the computer lab working on note identification. During the course we think through the festival pieces which will be performing next week. We also learned how to get internet with that group. Spencer after time on let everything that has breath the girls are doing rather well with it. Overall it was a good day and went really quickly.

Today was pretty good. Misses Crockett and the rest of Concert Choir are still on tour in New York. I was able to teach the classes I myself today and went really well. During music theory we talked a little bit about chord progressions what was really effective. I think most of the students really understand what is going on. However, there were several that seems a bit ly. During concert choir there only 16 people not 65 which deadly to have some complications. But I was happy with how engaged they wear with half your the word. They worked well we had a good time. Thank their. A mixed chorus we were able to review our education and of course we got the festival. We think through all of our pieces once again and started learning hola Lucia and some nights. I'm not too sure about some nights in a message that it sends but gotta be something I'll talk with Leon about. Overall great day

Today was great! We had our beginning Choir Festival this afternoon. It went very well. We ended up getting it too plus rating which is a little better than I expected. I am Agean that we would get to 2. It was a little stressful because we left the school 30 minutes before we were supposed to be on stage we arrived warmed up for about two minutes and when on. Again, I was surprised how well we were able to perform with such pressure. I had a really good time sitting in the back of the bus with the boys on the way home. I never imagined that they would ask me some of the questions that they did. Seems like them I trust me more than I ever imagined. I know that I'm a convert to the church and started asking me lots of questions about my past. To be honest, I was hesitant in what I said and wasn't sure how to respond. I told them that I was a really good kid but I made some bad mistake but all that matter but who I was now. I think most of them really understood or just trying to have fun and push to upset. They're fun kids I know just had a good time. During school today we were able to have a good day in music theory I get to students a quiz most of them did pretty well from what a great so far there are a few that are very lost and need some extra help. During concert choir the whole time we practiced on to our music. They leave tonight at 7 p.m.. Honestly, I am really jealous but they're all going to New York and I'm staying here. I know that wasn't in our budget for me to go but it would have been enough. Ok , the day was great and I felt like we had a lot of success

Today was another really good day. It was in a day so we only had singers and are women's chorus. During fingers we worked on mostly to read music since they are leaving tomorrow. I didn't work too much one on one with them except for the beginning of class. It was very difficult to get them started today, I think that you're excited about leaving New York tomorrow. During one score some good very well I was able to teach a lesson on the whole production and also work on Sundays in teaching. Overall today was pretty good we had a really early morning with rehearsal starting at 6:30 for to wear. I'm ready to be done today.

8 April 2013 spring break is over

Well last week with a great rest of the week off for spring break. Honestly, I was a little hesitant coming back today thinking of the students would be very difficult to work with. I was wrong! They all in all three classes, it worked very well. For the most part they were focused the whole time and only needed some reminders to stay on task. During the third. With mixed choir, we worked on our festival pieces which we will be performing on Wednesday. I am very happy without a choir sound. I was very scared that I would get on stage with them and they went off all apart. Come together very well and I'm happy with our success. During music theory this morning the students were right on the ball with their dictation and are getting very good at spelling major chords in every key. During concert choir for the most time I worked on creating a quiz for music theory but helped warm up the choir. All in all, today was a great day. I'm excited for the next couple weeks. Kinda sad that it's all ending.

I didn't have time to write yesterday saw some up the last 2 days in this post. Yesterday was pretty good with all 3 classes I taught the whole.. During music theory we did Milotic and rhythmic dictation. We've been reviewed chord progressions and how to build cords. We added a quarter aggression to the melody that they dictated. That took most of the class, they're doing really well. At the end we had a quiz to turning the difference between major minor and diminished chords. Out of 10 options most kids if not all got at least 8 correct. I was happily surprised with how well they did. During the choirs I was able to conduct of our song and refer son.

Today was pretty good as well. The morning started early with early morning rehearsal for all those going on to her. Those kids are very dedicated and I'm so happy I can mark them. During singers it was a little bit more laid back today but we were able to do some really good and effective thing. During women's chorus I was able to talk about theory and work on singing animals in the beginning. We also saying to my music. This is Crockett had me work on the computer finishing a photo directory for 2 yr and also thinking financial information on Dropbox. Overall it's in really good last 2 days I'm really happy with the way everything is going

25 March 23rd

Today was pretty good. That's a lot of time working on getting more organized with the music that we use everyday. We each had to leave copies of everything after a busy day it's easy to have misplaced or buy music. Make copies of everything that we're doing but then she put them in a binder. Flower any music be much more organized. This is Crockett seem to be very excited about this way in. Drinks I was able to warm fire up the time working on music we did saying let everything that hath breath. It went really well I love that group of kids they're very talented singers hard worker. Today was another pretty good day. I had a really good time with the first. Music theory class. For the majority of the time we worked on Milotic and red make a dictation too familiar folk songs. We've been reviewed how to build tonic sub dominant and dominant cords. After that review we added the chords to the folk songs that they had previously dictated. I think it was very educational and they were very interested in helping create this music together. I walk away from that class Tony very happy and excited about where we're going to class. During concert choir again, didn't really struggle focusing on not talking. When did sectional that I worked with a man. Some of them try very hard about others really care less. The music is coming along but it could be so much further ahead is that okay. During mixed choir I spent about 10 minutes talking a little bit about myself to get to know me a little more. I talk to them about our adoption Facebook page and also how did I mention process has affected our lives and what we hope it will do for our family in the future. Then all 3 festival song and I was pleasantly surprised. We have a lot of work to do still, but I was happy with the progress we've made it we can sing the song from beginning to end. After going to our song we were able to work I worksheet to help I owe us identify those 2 can read music well they had a shin and symbol also had to identify know. After that we worked on a song let everything that has breath and again saying are Facebook. Today was great, overall I felt like it was a success

Today was another really good day. Not too much to report. During first. We worked on let everything that has breath. The kids love this song and get into it a lot. After her sing that song we announced today that for all 3 it to Decatur from yesterday Festival we received superior rating and that we will be going to state. They were all super excited and I'm so happy. , missus Walker from the middle school got donuts for the kids to celebrate a victory . The rest of the class. We spent time reading the comments from the judges. Both of their negative feedback how to do with the expressive nature of singers at the perform. We watched several videos of choir thing that show great expression on YouTube. I think it's even know what they need to do how to cheat during second. With the women's chorus we gave them prepass for music theory. That took the entire class so we weren't able to pay. Overall today was a great day what I'm doing learning a lot.

Today was awesome day! It was a bj which I normally thread with concert choir and the next wire. During first. Missus Crockett had me working on some computer documents so I wasn't in front of the class very much today. However Dan concert choir and our next course uh huh I was able to conduct quite a bit. I thought all of concert wire and all of mixed choir. They were awesome hearsal the kids were super engaged and they worked really hard. I have a good day super happy knowing that they have worked really well. I am very happy with the progress you're making. After school we had Chamber Choir Festival at Oro High. As I said yesterday Leanna gave me the response ability to conduct song rejoice. I practice quite a bit I felt really bad ready. And it went awesome. I was very impressed with all 3 numbers that are kids today. I wouldn't be surprised if they made it to state. Overall this is this experience have made me realize how much I really love directing a working with wires. I'm not exactly sure what the future holds career wise but I will be more than happy to work with fire my professional life.

Today it was good to get back with the choir. It had been 4 days since I've been at the school. We had a 3 day weekend due to a teacher comp day and yesterday I was pretty sick so I didn't go. Today we worked with singers and hibachi and it went pretty well. Missus Crockett did can a throw me for a loop when she asked me to conduct the song rejoice tomorrow during the regional festival. I have conducted it a few times in class but I'm not sure if I feel confident enough to perform it tomorrow. Needless to say I will spend most of my evening making sure that I am very up to speed with the song. The girls during second. Were pretty talkative and have been for the last couple days. I don't know if it's the casing of the rehearsal or if it's just spring time but something is changing. We need to find ways to address that issue so we can keep the momentum that we had to Mr. On all today went pretty well I still feel a little sick but was able to get through everything and so pretty pretty positive about it.

Today was another really good day! I'm really starting to enjoy what I'm doing more and more. Singers have a great rehearsal this morning were really focus and get there all. They're coming along very well musically and I feel like they are ready for performance. During second. The girls also did a great job. They work really hard and very dedicated. Today went pretty well. The morning started off with this for school rehearsal. Members of the concert choir and singers were there practice on for 2 yr. The sun's coming along and that's a good thing because they gone to worry about 2 and a half weeks. Still I wish I could go but I think it'll be a good thing that I don't. Thanks first. We went through more of the song that will be Thunder to her and then the 3 festival pieces which of the performance next Wednesday. During second. I was in the office most of the hour working on more finances. I think we have now got everything under control and things are looking pretty good overalls pick a day. Enjoy what I'm doing.

Today was actually pretty satisfying, though I didn't expect it. Yesterday we decided that I would figure out all the finances for the tour that is coming up. I sat at her computer with financial documents for 5 hours. I found several discrepancies and have questions about several things. Students lol about 21,000 dollars . Pretty much all I did today, I learned how important it is to stay on top of finances when you have so much money you're dealing with. It was a good real world experience for me

Today was great! During the 2 classes today we let everyone that was performing in solo and ensemble practice. At 4 o'clock we all meet at the school and take the bus to Salem Hills High School. The kids did great I was proud of all of them. I have a feeling that a few of them got superior rating while others performs well for their ability. Doing festivals, is a lot more work than I had anticipated this for being a student teacher. I now see how much work it goes into helping individual students at all so logistics of planning the event. It it was a good experience for me. On our way home we stopped stopped at Cafe Rio and had dinner. I was able to chat with some of the kids and get another 1 more personal level. It was a good night and a good day today!

Today was an exhausting day. The first 2 periods went pretty well not many complaints. During music theory I mostly was in the computer lab helping students work on musictheory.net. During concert choir we divided into sectionals and I worked with the men. Most of them did a pretty good job thanks okay and singing well. There are still a few that struggle keep me posted my hair out. 30 hour we also divided into group again I worked with a man. They really make me pull my hair out. There are several of them that are really strong liters in a class. But, the second baby into mess around the other students follow suit. I really need to work with the key leaders so that we can make good progress as a group. I think I'm a little tired today, I'm not sure why. I'm hoping Thursday will be a better day with the class.

Today was a great day! I feel like I say that too often, but really think I've been going quite well. The morning started off with 1 of the professors from Utah Valley University helping out are Chamber Choir. I felt like I got some really good feedback on 1 of the song that I am conducting and excited to implement the things he toda. The to other song that I don't conduct he also gave an enormous amounts of feedback on. It was interesting to see what small changes he could make and what great changes that made in the choir. I look forward to working with him again on Wednesday. During second hour are girls it awesome! We were able to practice the ensemble performance that we will perform on Wednesday. Both groups have made a lot of progress and I feel that musically they are almost prepared to receive a 1 rating. I really enjoyed my time so far can't believe 2 months have passed. They have definitely been difficult to days but it has all been worth it. I have learned so much and it so excited if I end up teaching career.

Today was another really good day. The morning started off with singers. They are getting much more prepared with the 3 festival song that we will take to the festival on the 20th of March. The song that I am conducting has made a lot of improvements, we switch what key were seen it in which made a big difference. We still need to work on heading forward motion and phrases and also adding additional strong weeks. During second. The girls also did a great job I've been very impressed with their sound American tone quality. They are a great group of girls with amazing talent and for the most part very good focus. During your prep time I was able to prep a little bit for tomorrow and grade some papers for music theory. On all today was much better and enjoy the day.

Today was the night and day difference from Monday. First. Went as normal pretty well. We were able to watch didn't perform their music maps and also listen to a piano solo. Schedule today were be reduced quite a bit because it was a half day of school. Concert Choir was amazing! Missus Crockett started the hour by expressing her disappointment and the lack of respect that I received the money rehearsal today for her to was focused direct and we accomplished everything I had planned to and more. During third. I was surprised at the lack of concentration and focus of the students. I have time to see and learn that if I give my whole self there more than likely to give me much as they can. But if I back off at all then they think they can get away with whatever they want. Lesson learned: I need to get my all everyday

Today was a much better day than yesterday. We only have 2 classes on a day and today there was an assembly so each class was much shorter than normal. During singers we were able to perform for another music teacher who then educated are performance. She gave a lot of really good feedback that I feel the students needed. During second hour we were able to run several of the song did we have been working on and the girls made much progress. Their tone is beautiful and they are diligent and dedicated to the music and the choir. During my prep time we prepared for concert choir tomorrow since it was quite a challenge yesterday. She's letting me teach the whole class again and this time expect perfection from student. I'm nervous and excited to see how it goes.

Today sucked! Missus Crockett texted me late last night and told me that she was sick and she wouldn't be here today. It didn't bug me too much because I've worked with all of the classes extensively I have been in front of them for the whole class hour before. First. With music theory went very well. Students are very cooperative and focus. During second., concert choir, the students were absolutely disrespectful. I couldn't believe the lack of focus and the lack of attention they gave me. I took it a little personally and at the end of class I ended 7 minutes early. I told them that I was getting them everything I had that I thought none of them well most of them weren't giving me half of what they could. I left them in complete silence and many of them felt bad enough to come in person I apologize. During third hour, mixed chorus, things went much better. I was nothing for this group and after experience in what I did with concert choir, I was extremely nervous. But, I was pleasantly surprised with them into focus concentration at the game. Walking away today I feel frustrated but I felt accomplished the other group. I think the day needs to be a paradigm shift in our classroom in speaking with missus Crockett on the phone I think we have a plan to fix our problem.

Today was another really good day. During first. I was able to work with several individuals on there solo and ensemble pieces for the competition in 2 weeks. Many of them are doing very well, Locust a lot on advanced techniques. During the thought che we were able to listen to another cell with in the class and I was able to perform my piece for them. The rest of the class we worked on their group Ensemble pieces for the upcoming solo and ensemble festival. We were able to sing the song Regina and they are making some amazing progress. These girls are hard workers and have a lot of talent. During our prep. A lot but done with finances from the previous concert. I was very surprised to learn that are profit from the concert was over 6000 dollars.

Today was awesome! The day started out with the beginning music theory class. We did our interval and melodic dictation quiz. I was able to grade a few of them at the end of class. Some students did very very well. While others really struggled. I wasn't really surprised by those who did poorly. They often are absent or lack of attention while in class. We also were able to look at students music maps. Before students a present their maps today did an absolutely great job. During concert choir I went with the students who did not finish taking the test last. I wasn't in front of the choir at all except to perform my solo. It went very well and the students give me a great applause. During mixed chorus I was able to perform again and felt that my performance there was even better. During next course I worked with tenders and Altos by missus Crockett took the bases and Sopranos into another room. It was so much easier to work with half of the choir. They were much more attentive and worked harder. I enjoyed being with that class today. I often leave frustrated or with a headache after teaching next course. But today, was much different.

Today was a pretty laid back day. We did get a lot accomplished though. During both classroom. Today we listened to all those who will perform in the upcoming solo and ensemble festival. Sounds pretty prepared, I can tell that they have practice quite a bit. Others have not prepared very well. We told to of the numbers but they would not be able to participate because of the lack of preparation they have had. It's hard for me to remember what it was like things solos or in small groups in high school. I think having been the university setting for such a long time I forget what to really expect from the younger students. There is some real talent an awesome potential, but it will take some work to get them to where they could be. During our prep time we were able to prepare for classes tomorrow and I feel like we're ready to go.

Today was a great day. Last night Rihanna called me and said she probably wouldn't be at school today. So, I was more mentally prepared for class then I ever happen. She ended up coming because she wasn't feeling it sick and she thought. What I learned is that when I'm more prepared I succeed that way try to accomplish. I need to prepare more. The morning started off with our beginning music theory class. They're good group and are very attentive. I never have problems with an acting up on me behaving. We were able to do a listening assignment Milotic and rhythmic dictation, intervals, review of music map, and work in our group. During concert choir it was pretty laid back. We spent most of our doing an advanced precast of music theory. During our mixed choir class I was able to teach for about 15 minutes and then we did an intermediate pre test on music theory. Overall the day went pretty well I wish that I play the piano better. I wish I had more time to practice.

Today was a really relaxed day, I was pretty surprised since this is the week at the concert. During both classes singers and the advanced women's chorus we work on decorations for the halls and for the inside of the auditorium for the concert. We didn't thing at all in singers and during women's chorus we reviewed their songs for solo and ensemble. Pretty in anything full day not too much to report.

Today was so much better than yesterday! I know it has something to do with the 2 classes I teach today being more than a little more mature. Starting the singers I ran the whole rehearsal and I thought it went really really well I think in the kitchen I now have a relationship of mutual respect and trust and feel that we work very well together. Today honestly, they have sound did much better the last few Dave. I think there focus relieved provide so much energy. During second. With the Women's Show Choir we were able to get through almost all of the music. We worked on some berry stylistics things and were able to accomplish when I think mister Peters need. We had a little heart to heart I told them that they were on the 1 of the best girls group that I have ever heard and they have so much potential in talent but if they start talking all the time every time we stopped rehearsing then they never going to cheat much more than me I'm pretty. I think it got to muster them and then I think that we have set a new time for the class. Plumbing problems at home so I had to leave right after class but overall super good experience today

Today was not a very good day. Music theory went pretty well not super organized but with complish enough for the children to say in gauge. Dang concert choir there was more focused then there has been in the past. I spent most the time in the auditorium staging choreography for the concert next week. During third. Doctor Broomhead came to serve me teach the mixed choir. They were super talkative and it's very frustrating for me trying to teach. Message me back he gave me with a kiss on helping the men become real man helping him understand the importance of focus. Talk about how we need to make an extra effort to campaign of sorts, to get the men involved and loving what they're doing. Until that happens he said we wanted me to reach mediocrity. I didn't say very much last night feeling kind of crappy I think that's all for today.

Today was another pretty good day. I feel a little more tired than I normally do at the end of the day but it was pretty good. The morning started off with music theory and the majority of what I thought I was with rhythm I also work with my group on note identification. Most of them are doing pretty well though 1 girl really struggles. I know that she has some learning disabilities so I've been giving her a little bit easier work. She is accomplishing things and ask her to and I didn't even be so I felt good about what about church you.

Concert Choir with fun we got to practice a lot of the songs we're singing at the concert next week. I feel like today was the first day well, maybe not the first day, but the first time in a long time when I felt respect from the whole class. They're doing a great job with the new the medley and I know though have a great performance next week. We spent most the time with the boys on on the song for me. The choreographer came again today and we breast up and finish that the song

During mixed chorus we were able to work on go down Moses the gift of love she's in love, nothing like a dame, and spark of creation. Go down Moses is starting to sound really good. We need to work small segments in masturbation before moving on. I feel again to discuss it more attention than normal but what he and they really lost her phone.

Today what a great day! Missus Crockett is in Saint George for the music educator conference. There was a sub there but she sat in the back and read a book the whole time. Seems kinda unfair that I'm the 1 working for free and she gets paid to sit and read a book. Oh well, I guess that's just how it goes.

During singers this morning we reviewed spark of creation and God is calling. They were very focused and I was super happy with their hard work they sounded amazing. Are choreography choreographer arrived and we spend the rest of the hour working on spam a lot. The kids really love this song and have a lot of fun with it to the point where sometimes it's very difficult to get their attention back. But overall they are working really hard and doing a good job and having a lot of fun. And in the end, that's what it's all about.

During the font she we spent pretty much the entire. On she's in love again the choreographer with able to help them finish the whole song. Bistros really got into it today and did awesome job. I'm happy with their progress and with the dedication that they show. During lunch we had a rehearsal again for she's in love and all the women from the mixed chorus joined us. I thought that the girls in the BOP she would stand out a little bit more than the others but that we're all doing a really good job. It was a really good day I was a little nervous because missus Crockett wouldn't be there but it went really well and I'm happy with how it all turned out

Well, today was another b-day. Good morning started off with beginning music theory and it was awesome. I show to class add a YouTube video of 3 men performing body rhythms. It was very complex and very entertaining to watch. The students were very excited to try to make their own body rub them together. Beach group was get with given 3 whiteboards to ride to measure rhythm. Youth group had to have at least 3 rhythms performed simultaneously. Some of them not very creative stopping their feet clapping her hands having a fingers pounding on tables about others where more conservative and only left their laps. For the kids this was a fun application of things that we've been learning in class this point. After that message Crockett introduced the circle of fifth to the whole class. My group, the last dance group, didn't get much out of the half an hour lesson. I wish that we would have divided into groups and I could have focus more on some basics with that group. Overall I think it was a great class and I think that this didn't had a good time. They walked away with application to the things I've been learning.

Today concert choir was more of a break than anything. I still Kentucky music the whole class but the focus was definitely on choreography. The choreographers very creative and she's done some great work with this group. I'm excited to see them perform the entire new these medically together.

Mixed choir was kind of a bummer. This group does really good when we are all things together combined girls and boys. But, for this concert there are numbers that just voicing and just a girl thing. Therefore, we needed to practice in separate rooms. The boys are quite a handful today there were several that I know we're just trying to test my patience. I think I can Michael for the most part but with 1 of them I got a little ticked off at me can do it. I think it on the field the fire. We came back together and ran a few songs that we all sing together, the class went really quickly today.

Today turned out to be a pretty good day, I'm glad that things are finally starting to click.

They started with singers rehearsal and it went really well. I was able to work on them work on noon song it with them and also help with several other song. They're very talented group and I feel like she had a really good talk with him today to help me see the power the teacher has a classroom. We need to help students really understand what music song about. It's not just words in notes spiders meaning feeling the need to go into the music in order to be performed correctly mechanics music. Today I walk away from that class seeing that can have a lot of fun in class focus and still obtain goal that they have set.

During the Bacci we were able to review many of the song they have learned already. We work a lot on she's in love for the concert next week. I was able to work with them on when I seen, the Jazz P that she's asked me to teach them. The last class. We had together we tried to sing to the whole thing to get it in the girl years and it was a great sale your. They weren't able to do it and didn't fill a compliment. Must have them walk away not liking something very much. Today we work the last page for at least 10 minutes and made sure that style and words and rhythms where are correct and then we started moving backwards a little bit. This gave the girls much more confident in what they were thinking they got into the style quite a bit and really stepped inside the peace. Near the very end of class I begin to talk to them about a little gas history and where the route to the music coming from. There are several girls that were being very disruptive in very disrespectful and I decided to not share what I was going to with them. Many of the girls got angry and upset because they were excited to learn. I'm glad there are some girls to are so intense and the focus hope that the others well catch their excitement for the day.

Today was a really good day. I think I enjoyed myself more today than I do on my day.

The day started off with our beginning music theory class. We did the normal listening activity at the beginning of the. But this time I invited students to field and have to beat and also try to identify the meter. It was pretty basic and most of them did very well. We then did Milotic in Richmond dictation and learned intervals from a second to a bit. I was very surprised with some of the beginning kids and how quickly they were able to what they were learning. When we split into groups I taught my group how to play the first 5 notes of a major scale with both hands on the piano you can correct fingers found them pick it up pretty quickly what other struggles. In the end I was happy with the progress to everyone made.

During concert choir today it got a little crazy because we're working on choreography again. They really need to learn from to the planet not haha everytime we stop I feel like it's getting a little better and then those who respects to another important on courage in other kids do the same. I found that the same method or just send me something about it I already work the best for this trip. I'm not sure what to do in the future but will try using different procedures message to accomplish our goals of helping them.

At lunch time we had a rehearsal with all the man in the choir. This was my first time hearing all the men things together and it was awesome my first time hearing nothing like a dame being son from beginning to end. This rehearsal brought some home seen this song I was pretty worried about it before but I do believe they will be able to succeed in seeing the song.

During the last hour and mixed chorus I was thrilled with how much we were able to accomplish and learn. We started off with the song that we will be singing in combine group seize the day, parking creation. And they did a pretty good job. Most of them haven't been very exposed to the song so there someone new for them. Again I was happy with their eyes focus on their willingness to learn music. We then broken to section of the women stayed with me Crockett by the men with me we worked on individual parts of spark creation and nothing like a dame. The boys were out is normal but we were able to accomplish them. When we went back together re same parking creation together again and it sounded much better. After which I was able to work on go down Moses with them. They seem more excited about this on another song and their focus was great. For the end of class begin to get a little antsy so we sing the whole thing well, from the beginning so where we stop learning. I was really happy with her success and I let them go 1 minute early.

Today went pretty well. The day started off with singers. During singer I was able to help a lot with are German song on it. I feel like this to dance understand and know what we want to achieve with this song but we're still getting started. They are doing really well with the first and second ending on the first page. We started working the second page and today and they are doing much better. We worked on rejoy for about 10 minutes and were able to work in sectionals on the last page. I feel like they understand apartment better but the man need to work on rid a little more. When singing quiet hours we need to increase the tempo. These singers have amazing voices and win their focus Awesometown. We need to use the focus to make the whole song beautiful.

During the second. With the G we able to we were able to accomplish a lot as well. We started she's in love and they were really excited to perform with the choreography tailor last week. They got a little rowdy before the end but all in all I felt good that they were so excited to be scene song want me to work a little bit on parts toward the end in the part they haven't learned the choreography to a struggle a little bit. Identifying soloist is really important and making sure the rest of the girls know their background parts weather San Luis Potosi. They love to jump in and sing a solo parts but I think they're forgetting that they will be singing underneath the cellar with a different part. After she's in love we worked on seize the day. I was actually really surprised with the number of girls who had the speech memorized. It's not very long or difficult but I wasn't expecting him to the cheapest much they did. We worked on dynamic and also a little balance. Moving forward we need to clean clean up our diction. After scene fetus the day we worked on Regina Chelsea which flocked. I'm not sure if it was my my fault for the lack of focus on the girls part but we cannot accomplish what we wanted to get done we ended up only thing apart the big not the tailor in last week and plans are to seeing that until it solid before we start adding to park. We've been reviewed Universal song which was pretty good they're being really good on tone clusters and I think the warm up that I've been doing that create own clusters of help New Year's train to singing notes that rub against 1 another. We will continue to work universal song for the back to the front. We also worked on a jazz piece and again didn't go as well as planned I think what I want to do it again work the back to pages to memorize a cappella before we do them with a compliment to 10 South on that and then add 1 page at a time going from that back to front I'm doing a lot of changing. We've been split up into 2 groups for solo and ensemble the group that I worked with doing really well um then prove a lot on how well they keep their Beach they're dynamics a struggling a little bit they seem to think Forte most of the song that I will be in the coming week.

My overall feeling today leaving class are a little frustration of not being prepared well enough, and I know that's only my fault. Also how I wish I had more time to practice the piano right now because it is my weakness and I can definitely feel that weakness when I find a group. I felt that most of the sun's coming together pretty well that the concert coming up in a week and a half should be a success women need to work on she's in love locate about that though. Overall I'm doing okay about how things are going but I know my weaknesses I know what to work on till tomorrow bye.

Today was a pretty good day we started first. With beginning music theory. The kids are doing pretty well actually really well with both with mic and melodic dictation. There are a few people in my group, which is the blessed event group, that seem to struggle with the very basics. I have 1 girl who is special needs student and I'm trying to meet her needs what's the focusing on the rest of the class. We were able to learn rhythmic dictation for 8 beats or 2 measures. I was very surprised with how accurate they were. We did melodic dictation with them for 1 measure and almost all students were correcting her answers.

Concert Choir started off pretty well. That group is very rowdy and if I'm not on their back the whole class then all they want to do is talk. Sometimes I find that very frustrating. It's hard not to want to give them pep talk but everytime I have it hasn't amounted much. I'm trying to demand excellence and I'm holding them to the highest potential I can. Most of today was focused on choreography for the Newsies medally. So I wasn't in front of them too much today.

During mixed choir I felt like we were able to achieve much more than we do on normal days. The girls are doing much better with the song she's in love and the boys are doing incredibly well with nothing like a dame. They also work on choreography for those 2 songs which took a lot of time. I was able to work with the girls on go down Moses and was pleasantly surprised surprised how well they when the parts we worked on. I feel like 93 minutes is really long and for me the struggle is making sure I have something planned for every minute I get them any down time then the day is kind of ruined. So for next week my goal is to make sure that I have more than enough activities planned so that I can keep students busy engaged.

Singers

Activities: Note learning for "Nun Fanget an" They are going a great job!  Then worked on "God is Calling"  They are pretty much memorized and doing well, time to start polishing.  We then sand through "Rejoice" which is also getting a lot better.  Guys are struggling with 4-part section. Choreography for "Spamalot" 

What went well? Really good focus today, I say because of better planning on my part.
What could be improved? Vowels and strong weak on "God is Calling"
Musical Goals: Listening in Rejoice and making is a coup effort, too much individual thinking right now...
Student Engagement: Good, Need to keep flirty boys and girls away from one another.

Vivaci

Activities: We spent most of the day working on choreography for She's in Love.  The choreographer did a great job and the girls were pretty engaged in the learning process.  
Observations: The girls respond really well to positive encouragement and like complements.  There are a few girl that I just don't think want to be here.  It's been really hard trying to motivate them and want them to want to give their all.  One day at a time...
What went well? During our warm-ups the girls sand Benji in 7 part rounds.  They were awesome at tuning these uncommon minor and dissonant chords. They like it, it's fun and it's really good practice for getting their ears out of the "Major" norm!
What could be improved? Focus is still a problem but it is getting better.  I think that I need to be able to go from one thing to another without any down time.  When I give them 2 seconds they are lost...
Musical Goals: Memorize she's in love, and get our of the music for Newsies.  
Student Engagement: Overall, pretty good, just got to help them stay focused when we stop.

Today was an in-service with out the students.  I was informed today that I would be taking over the new mixed choir which consists of the men's and women's chorus' from last semester.  I was anticipating working with this group and I am excited.  This is now the only non-auditioned group, and there are a few singers that really struggle...

Today I made a seating chart for the class and picked out 3 pieces that we plan to sing a festival.  What I wasn't expecting was being given the beginning music theory class.  I think that it will be great except that there isn't a curriculum...

We were able to look through the school's music library and I a pretty impressed.  I think when I have a library that I will catalogue my piece by numbering them not trying to alphabetize them.  I am excited to teach and I really like working with Leanna.  I feel like I can do things the way I want and she supports me in that.

Women's Chorus

Activities: I was able to listen to the girls for most of the day as they practiced their rep. I was pretty impressed with a group of girls that are non-auditioned to be able to sound as good as they do.

Observations: Their class is pretty focused, but at times there is much to much chatter... Mrs. Crockett does a good job of trying to keep them focused but I think that I might demand just a little more out of these girls as far as discipline.

What went well? They have a great sound and blend pretty well.  I think that when they are focused they do a great job.

What could be improved? Concentration and dedication to the music.

Musical Goals:  help girls polish when they feel comfortable.  many of them seem to be on auto pilot and I can tell that they are not really thinking about what they are doing, especially not thinking about what they are singing.

Student Engagement: It is pretty varied... There are some that are very engaged while others struggle.  I can tell that some of them are there because they don't want to be anywhere else and it seems like they know they can get away with things...


Concert Choir

Activities: Announcements (went a little long),  then practice of rep.  there were no sectionals or group work in this class today.

Observations: if you give them an inch they will take 3 miles. I know that I will need to be on the ball with this group so I can keep their attention and interest.  They lose focus very easily.

What went well? great sound, beautiful voices.

What could be improved? focus and purpose.

Musical Goals: challenge this group! They are great and will do well if pushed.

Student Engagement: all over the place.  There were some student having full conversations during the middle of the songs.  I'm not sure if they were seen or not but it seems like they know that they can get away with it pretty easily.


Men's Chorus

Activities: I mostly observed but was able to do a sectional with the tenors.  They are so crazy... There is one in particular that seems to be the ring leader.  this is going to be a touch group!

Observations: Most of them don't care about being there.  There are a few with great voices but lack focus and commitment means that it takes a lot of work for them to use those voices.

What went well? I can't really remember...

What could be improved? a lot...

Musical Goals: intonation for individuals.
